Esther (Costello) Panarelli 85, a lifelong Shrewsbury Street area resident passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 22nd , three weeks after her cherished sister, Helen Costello, after a brief period of declining health. A devoted wife and loving mother, born August 9, 1926, in Worcester, one of five daughters to Antonio and Filomena (Cirasella) Castiello. She grew up on Gage Street, educated in the Worcester Public Schools and has lived in the same house she grew up in all her life. Esther's husband, Angelo Panarelli was the love of her life and passed away in 1976. She is survived by the family she loved so much; her two devoted sons, David Panarelli and his wife Martie, Ronald Panarelli and his wife Anna, three granddaughters and three grandsons, all of Worcester; a sister Elvira "Vera" Kerr of Leicester; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was pre deceased by three sisters, Helen Costello who passed away February 2nd, Mary Bullens and Amelia Castiello. Esther was a faithful, fun filled lady who had a spark for life, who cherished her family, and her Italian heritage. She found enjoyment laughing and being with her family and will be greatly missed by everyone. Funeral services for Esther will be held Monday, February 27th 2012 at 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial next to her husband will follow in St John Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Sunday, February 26th from 3 pm to 6 pm and again on Monday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the funeral home. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
