Maria Lapomardo

Maria (Polselli) Lapomardo, 88, of Worcester, died peacefully Sunday February 12, 2012 in the St. Francis Home. Her husband John R. Lapomardo died in 2005. Maria is survived by two son's Rocky Lapomardo a retired MA.State Police Sgt. Of Naples Florida, and John B. Lapomardo and his wife Marianne of Sterling, a sister Lucy Ventura and her husband Maurice of Worcester, and four grandchildren, Nicholas, John, Jonathan, and Lesley, and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a sister Lucia Polselli, and a granddaughter Marianne Lapomardo. Maria was born in Arce province of Frosinone, Italy, daughter of the late Rocco and Gaetana (Benigini) Polselli, and came to the United States as a child. Maria was a licensed Beautician for many years, but really enjoyed being a Homemaker. She enjoyed knitting, and loved being with her family most of all. Maria will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Francis Home for their kindness and gentle care of Maria while she was there. A private funeral Mass was held in the Immaculate Conception Church, Grove Street. Interment was in St. Johns Cemetery. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. is assisting the family with arrangements.
