Frank L. Riccardi, 82, of Worcester, died peacefully Saturday February 11, 2012 in the home he was born in, surrounded by his family. Frank is survived by his devoted wife of fifty nine years Mary (Rizzo) Riccardi, his loving daughters; Frances Brown and her husband David, Lena Riccardi, and Rose Mary Riggieri ,six grandchildren; Katie and Daniel Brown, Nicholas and Maria DeSantis, Gabriella and Gina Riggieri, and many nephews and nieces. Frank was predeceased by his brother James Riccardi, and two sisters, Rose Mele, and Connie Martello. Frank was born in Worcester son of the late Stanley and Jennie (Marzano) Riccardi and lived here all his life. He was a graduate of Commerce High School. He worked for the City of Worcester School Department as a Senior Custodian for many years before he retired. Frank was a life member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church where he served as an usher for many years, and was also a member of the Holy Name Society. He was a life member of the San Vitaliano Society, and the East Side Improvement Club, and was also a member of the Greendale Retired Men's Club. Frank enjoyed watching all sports, especially Baseball and Basketball and was an excellent Baseball player in his younger days. But most of all he was a quiet man who really enjoyed being home with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Frank's family would like to extend their gratitude to Cardiologist Dr. Luigi Pacifico, and his nurse Judy, and also the VNA Hospice for their compassionate care and understanding given to Frank and his family during his illness. Frank's funeral will be held Tuesday February 14, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St with a Mass of Christian burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St. at 11:00AM. Calling hours will be held Tuesday morning only from 9:00AM to 10:30AM prior to leaving for Church. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church Renovation Fund 24 Mulberry St. Worc. MA. 01604 or VNA Care Network & Hospice Development Office, 5 Federal St., Danvers, MA 01923.
