Natalie L. (Israelian) Berthiaume, 69 of Worcester, formerly of Auburn, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family. Natalie is survived by her devoted husband of forty-seven years, Eugene Berthiaume, Jr.; two sons, Todd Berthiaume and his wife Dora of Northborough and Eugene Berthiaume, III and his wife Arica of Hampton Beach, NH; two daughters, Kimberly Omphalius and her husband Charles "Chuck" of Hopewell Junction, NY and Jeannine Germain and her husband Sergeant Major Scott Germain, U.S. Army of Fayetteville, NC; a brother, Harvey Israelian, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Auburn; two sisters, Cheryl A. Ducharme and her husband Duke and Marilyn England and her husband Richard; a brother-in-law, John Watson all of Auburn; eleven grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a daughter, Jennifer Berthiaume and a sister, Sally Watson. Natalie was born in Worcester, a daughter, of the late Harvey and Marion (Hess) Israelian. She grew up in Auburn where she graduated from Auburn High School. She later moved to Worcester in 1965 where she has resided ever since. Natalie was the owner and operator alongside her husband and family of Aladdin Video in Worcester and Nick Cerio Kenpo Karate. She also worked as a clerk for Dunkin Donuts on Route 20 in Auburn. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church. Natalie was black belt in and taught Karate. She also taught Catechism at Saint Joan of Arc Church in Worcester for many years. Natalie was also fluent in sign language and volunteered at UMASS Medical Center in the pediatrics department for many years. She loved her flower garden and the beach especially Hampton Beach where her and her husband owned a home for ten years after retirement and where they spent time with family and friends. Services for Natalie will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 31st from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
