She was born in Worcester, Ma, a daughter of Robert Flury. Barbara was a graduate of St. Peter's High School and St. Vincent's Hospital School of Medical Technology. She was a Registered Medical Technologist and retired from St. Vincent's Hospital after forty years in May of 1995. She was a member of St. James Church in South Grafton, Music Worcester, Worcester Preservation Society and the Grafton Land Trust. Barbara was an excellent cook and home decorator, her color coordination in all phases of design was extraordinary. A great lover of Cape Cod, she especially enjoyed her summer vacation with family in Chatham. She was a great lover of nature. She wills us to see as much beauty in the steel line engraving of winter as in the watercolors of spring or the oil paintings of summer. She was an elegant shining lady. "Adherent to truth. Lover of beauty. A practical idealist. Memory is her monument." Funeral services and burial for Barbara will be private and held at the convenience of her family. Funeral arrangements are under the care of MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.
