Divna (Djordjevic) Gorgievski, 60, of Worcester passed away peacefully in her home Sunday, January 8, 2012 with her devoted family by her side after a long battle with cancer. Divna was born August 5, 1951 in Bitola, Macedonia, daughter of Trifun and Zorka (Kuzmanovska) Djordjevic. She grew up in Macedonia and came to the United States at the age of 18 and has lived here since. Divna leaves her beloved husband of the past 38 years, Toma Gorgievski. Together they raised three children, Elizabeth Gorgievski of Worcester, Nicholas Gorgievski and his wife Patricia of Johnston, RI, and Michael Gorgievski and his wife Amy of Auburn. She is survived by a brother, Zdravko Djordjevic of Shirley, two cherished grandchildren, Kate and Brayden, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was also predeceased by her sister, Milica (Djordjevic) Kostantinov. Divna worked in the accounting department of WPI for more than 15 years. She previously worked for area companies including Bank of America, People's Bank and Astra Pharmaceuticals. Divna enjoyed cooking for her family, participating in pageants with her daughter, dancing, gardening, the beach, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, January 10 from 5pm to 8pm at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, January 11th from the funeral home with a service at 10am at St. Spyridon Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell St. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery. Divna's family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the VNA Care Network for all the care, compassion, and understanding they gave during this difficult time.
