Iris D. (Rodriguez) Maldonado, 46, of Worcester died peacefully Friday December 30, 2011 surrounded by her loving family in the UMASS Medical Center. Iris is survived by her husband of 22 years Lionel Sepulveda, her mother Juana Cruz; two sons, Carlos and Juan Maldonado; a daughter Emily Maldonado; a brother Samuel Rodriguez of Georgia; five sisters, Anna Cartagena, Noemi Jordan and her husband Kenneth, Luz Guzman and her companion Hiram Irizarry, Magaly Rodriguez, and Jesenia Cruz; four grandchildren, Jayden and Jozef Lopez, Juilanna and Tayah Maldonado; her mother in law, Ada Sepulveda of Worcester; a brother in law, Walter Sepulveda of Worcester; three sisters in law, Migdalia Fairbanks of Pittsburg, PA, Vivian Flanagan of Warren, MA and Evelyn Sepulveda of Whitinsville; and many nephews and nieces. A brother Jose L. Rodriguez, her father in law, Efrain Sepulveda and a brother in law, Jose Sepulveda predeceased her. Iris was born in Puerto Rico daughter of the late Leonardo Rodriguez. She came to the United States in the late 1960''s. Iris was a Home Health Aide for many years. And later was trained as a PCA. She worked for Whitney Place in Westborough as a PCA for the last nine years and was still employed there up until her passing. Iris loved to shop, go flea marketing, enjoyed nice jewelry, and camping. She had a green thumb that was unreal, everything she tended to grew beautifully. But her most precious times were those with her family whom she loved dearly. She will be missed terribly by her family and friends. Iris's funeral will be held Friday at 10:00AM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. Calling hours will be held Thursday evening from 4PM to 7PM. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
