Francis E. Ferraro, 85 of Worcester, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011 in UMASS Medical Center surrounded by his devoted family. Francis' wife of four-five years, Dorothy A. (Killoran) Ferraro passed away June 26, 2002. He is survived by his son, Francis E. Ferraro, Jr. and his wife Cathy of Worcester; five daughters, Cathy Mulhearn and her husband Michael of Worcester, Christine McCullough and her husband James of Auburn, Lisa Devereaux and her husband William of Leicester, Patricia Bonnette and her husband Daniel and Lori Ferraro all of Worcester; two brothers, Anthony and Joseph Ferraro both of Worcester; a sister, Marion Saucier of Millbury; twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers, Paul and Richard Ferraro. Francis was born in Worcester, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Belsito) Ferraro and has lived here all his life. He was a member of the U.S. Navy serving his country during WWII. After his discharge from the military he worked as a mechanic for Harr Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church as well as the American Legion Post 341 and Brown Square Civic Club. He enjoyed going to the beach especially Cape Cod. In his younger days he enjoyed flying his plane and boating. Services for Francis will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A period of calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 3rd from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home. Flowers are welcome.
