Pauline "Polly" L. (Sutherland) Ferrantino, 88, of Worcester, passed away in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband, Anthony J. Ferrantino, predeceased her in 1992. Pauline is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Verdolino and her husband Andrew of Worcester, Sue-Ellen Macaruso of Millbury and Tracey Stanton and her husband Ronald of Worcester; five grandchildren, Denise Gerolomo and her husband Thomas, Brenda Verdolino, Mathew Macaruso, Sara Macaruso and Briana Stanton; two beloved great granddaughters, Isabella and Giuliana Gerolomo; her pet bird Tony; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son in law, Thomas Macaruso; two sisters, Della M. Metcalf and Vera Carlo and by a brother, William "Tubby" Sutherland. She was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, daughter of William and Sadie E. (Turpin) Sutherland and has lived here most of her life. She graduated from Worcester Commerce High School in 1941 and worked for a short time at Norton Company. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. Polly enjoyed travelling with family and friends, doing ceramics and her time spent over the past two years at Summit Elder Care. She was an animal lover and enjoyed being surrounded by her family. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 3, at 10 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Rural Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 2, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
