Ronald M. Vallon, 64, of Medfield, MA died suddenly on December 23, 2011 in Cambridge, MA after losing his battle with cancer. Born in Worcester, MA, he was the son of the late Casimir and Rita (Tamulavicus) Vallon of Worcester, MA. A 1969 graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, he also obtained a Masters' Degree from Boston College. He was employed as a Research Analyst at the Executive Office of Elder Affairs for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Boston, MA. Ron was the beloved husband of Kathryn (Ruda) Vallon. He is survived by his daughter, Erica and her husband, Donald Chaplin, of Boston, MA, as well as his son, Jordan and wife Emily, and his dear grandson, James Vallon, of Dudley, MA. He also leaves numerous cousins and extended family members. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family, and enjoyed the outdoors. In his youth he camped across America, and enjoyed many years vacationing on Cape Cod. Ron was an avid reader, interested in meteorology, cosmology, and physics. Services for Ron will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St., Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 29th from 8:30-10:30 a.m. in the funeral home prior to mass.
