Rodney F. Kalil, 71, of Worcester passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011 with family by his side after a brief illness. Rodney's wife of 48 years Carolee L. (Lambert) Kalil passed away August 24, 2010. His son Rodney F. Kalil II passed away July 31st of 2010. He is survived by his daughter, Kymberly Fichtner and her husband William; two cherished grandchildren, Vangel and Eva Grace; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was born in Worcester, one of three sons of Joseph and Eva (Deeb) Kalil. He graduated from North High School, earned a degree in Civil Engineering and has lived here all his life. Rodney worked as a self employed Civil Engineer for several companies in the Worcester Area. He was a member of St George Orthodox Cathedral, and the Lodge of Masons. A simple man who cherished his heritage, liked to take long walks in warm weather, enjoying the outside and the delicious food that came along with Syrian/Lebanese Heritage. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 13th at 11:00 am in Hope Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest next to his adored wife and cherished son. There are no calling hours.
