Lorenzo "Larry" DePasquale, 91, of South Grafton, formerly of Fiskdale, passed away peacefully Monday, November 28th 2011 at Homestead Hall in Worcester,MA Larry was born in Worcester, a son of Anthony and Lena (Ciani) DePasquale. He grew up in Worcester, graduated from Commerce High School. Larry then joined the U.S. Army Air Corps to serve his country during World War II. He returned to Worcester for many years, then moved to Sturbridge/Fiskdale , residing there for 27 years before moving to South Grafton with his daughter in 2009. Larry's wife of 17 years Marion (Jackson) DePasquale passed away in 1993. His first wife and mother of his children Rosella (Chapel) Masiello passed away in 1995. He is survived by his three children, Cheryle Loader and her husband Ronald of South Grafton formerly of Spencer, Paula Chapman of Millbury and Mitchell DePasquale of Worcester; a brother Vincent DePasquale and his wife Barbara; a sister, Mary Simone all of Shrewsbury; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, along with the very caring staff of Summit Elder Care in Millbury. A sister, Lucille Piccarelli passed away in 2007. Larry worked on the Worcester State Hospital Security Police department many years before retiring in 1980. He previously worked as a Baker for the Bond Bread Company. Lorenzo was a member of the Retired State, County and Municipal Employees Association of Massachusetts and the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers Union. He was a quiet simple man who cherished the time his could spend with his family especially his grand and great grandchildren. Larry loved to do crossword puzzles and word searches. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Wednesday November 30th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. A funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday December 1st at 11:00 am in the funeral home by Rev John Lindsay. Burial with Military honors will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
