Bernard Green, 53, of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, in his home. He is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Lovella (Speights) Green; a daughter, Schavone Green of Worcester; a son, Bernard M. Green of Montgomery, AL; three step-daughters, Roberta Taylor of Worcester, Makeya Washington of Orangburg, SC and Schnelle Ravenelle of Worcester; two step-sons, Antonio Washington of Orangeburg and Donnie Scott of Springfield, MA; his father, Luther Green in Orangeburg; three brothers, Eugene, James and Luther; two sisters, Carrie Belle Guinyard and Janie Pugh all of Orangeburg; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, John, Dixie and King David. Bernard was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina, son of the late Lillie Green. Bernard served his nation for over thirty years in the United States Army, before retiring in 2006, most recently serving as a Sergeant at Fort Devens. He was a member of Southworks Post American Legion. Calling hours for Bernard will be held today, Wednesday, November 30, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
