Marguerite E. "Peg" McGrath, 95 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 26, 2011 in St. Francis Home surrounded by her devoted family. Peg is survived by two sisters, Marion Campbell of Worcester and Madeline Kennedy of Shrewsbury; several nieces and nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a sister, Eileen O'Malley. Peg was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late David and Ellen (Kiely) McGrath and has lived here all her life. She graduated from St. Peter's High School and St. Vincent's School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at City Hospital for Dr. Robert Cox, pediatrician for several years. She was a devoted member of St. Joan of Arc Church for over fifty years where she served as a lector, C.C.D teacher and was very active in the C.Y.C program. She was also a member of the St. Vincent's Nurses Alumnae and Catholic Nurses Association. Peg enjoyed vacationing at Hampton Beach. A period of calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. with a Mass to follow at 11:30 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Saint John Cemetery, Worcester. MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester is honoring to be assisting the family with arrangements.
