Laura (Schenker) D'Errico, 88, of Worcester, a former resident of Shrewsbury and Falmouth died peacefully at home with her family by her side on Thursday, November 24, 2011. Laura was born on June 17, 1923, the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Fohey) Schenker. Laura was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved to cook and care for her family. She was a devoted wife of Thomas D'Errico with whom she shared her life and great times and memories until his passing in 1984. Laura loved having her family happy and enjoyed many wonderful summers at the cape and on the beach. She became a nurse and was very proud to work in the health care profession. Laura leaves her loving children; Richard Bishop and his wife Shirley of Florida, her daughter Gail Bird of Worcester, a daughter Lucia Gerolomo and her husband Stephen of Worcester and her son Peter D'Errico and his wife Anne-Marie of Shrewsbury; her grandchildren, Sandra, Mike, Susan, Thomas, Anthony, Lori, Sherri, Lisanne and Thomas; great grandchildren, Jake, Gina, Lola, Isabella, Lucca, Guiliana, Joseph and Bridgette and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her two brothers, William and Henry Schenker; a sister Rose White-MacLean; a granddaughter, Lisa Bird and a great-granddaughter, Amber Bird. Laura's funeral will be held Monday, November 28th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Planation Street, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Friends and family are invited to visit with the family from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home before departing for church.
