Richard P. "Dickie" Williams, 71 of Worcester passed away peacefully Monday, November 07, 2011, in his home after an illness. Dickie was born in Worcester a son of George F. and Anne (Boraccini) Williams. He grew up in Grafton, graduated from Grafton High School and joined the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War to serve his country. Upon his return to Worcester, Dickie moved to Wigwam Ave in Worcester where he lived the rest of his life. Dickie is survived by his two sons, Joseph Johnson and his wife Roxanne, and Anthony Williams all of Worcester; a sister Lavinia Sparrow of Chatham: a grandson Joseph Johnson, Jr.; his former wife, Cathy Simone; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Dickie worked many years as a Forman for Bio-Science Company before retiring. He previously worked the assembly line for the General Motors Assembly plant in Framingham. Dickie attended Sunday mass regularly. He could be found on most Sundays at such churches as Our Lady of Mercy, St Anne's Church, St Stephen's Church and Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. He loved to travel, loved sports especially the New York Yankee's and the New England Patriots. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union. Dickie's life was inspirited by his children, he cherished the times he could spend with Anthony, Joseph and Joseph Jr. Dickie's funeral will be held Thursday, November 10th 2011 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St with a Mass at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mercy Church, 341 June St. Burial with Military Honors will be held in St John's Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held from 9 am to 10:30 Thursday at the funeral home prior to leaving for church.
