Berjoohie "Betty" (Adishian) Dowd Ruffo, 80 of Worcester, passed away on November 5, 2011 at home. Betty's first husband, James Dowd passed away in 1957 and her second husband, George Ruffo passed away in 1994. She is survived by four sons, James N., Paul K., and Robert J. Dowd all of Worcester and John Ruffo and his wife Debby of Redondo Beach, CA; two brothers, John Adishian of Fresno, CA and David Adishian of Palos Verdes, CA; a sister, Mary Vosgerichian of Walton Hills, OH; Seven Nephews, Two Neices, along with several great nephews and neices all of whom will miss her dearly; five grandchildren, Justin Dowd and his fiancé Rebecca Meskunas of Waltham, MA, Matthew Dowd of Winter Springs, FL, Sophia, Angelo and Julianna Ruffo all of Redondo Beach. She is predeceased by a grandson, Robert Dowd, Jr. Betty was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Krikor and Zabel (Vajebian) Adishian and has lived here all her life. She graduated from Commerce High School. Betty was well known for her passion for cooking and entertaining. Betty was a Senior Clerk for the Worcester County Registry of Deeds for many years. She was a member of the Armenian Church of our Savior. She greatly loved her family and friends, who she has had an incredible impact on. Her graciousness, warm magnetic personality and wisdom will be missed by all of those who love her dearly. Betty's funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 8, from the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, with a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in the Armenian Church of Our Savior, 87 Salisbury St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
