Steven A. Camara, 49, of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2011 in UMass Hospital, after a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly twenty years, Theresa M. (Courtemanche) Camara; a son, Steven A. Camara, Jr., both of Worcester; his father, August V. Camara of Taunton; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His mother, Leona G. (Pelletier) Camara, predeceased him. Steven was born in Fall River and grew up in Taunton, where he attended public schools. He later moved to Worcester, where he met his wife and began his family. He worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years at The Jewish Healthcare Center having previously worked at Fairlawn Rehabilitation. Steven was a member of Our Lady of The Rosary Church. He was involved with Worcester Little League as a coach, which allowed him to share his love of the game with his son. He and his son were also proud that they attended all of the recent "Championship" parades for the Boston sports teams. Steven enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and golfing. He was a supporter of the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts. Calling hour for Steven will be held on Wednesday, November 2, from 9 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester; followed by a Funeral Mass at 12 Noon at Our Lady of The Rosary Church, 25 Fales Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
