George DePasquale

December 30, 1926 — October 23, 2011

George DePasquale, 84, of Worcester passed away Sunday October 23rd 2011 with family by his side after a long battle with cancer. George is survived by his wife of 17 years, M. Rita (Festa) Bernard, DePasquale; six children, Mauro, Joseph, George, Anthony, Peter and Maria DePasquale; three stepchildren whom he also considered his children , Richard Bernard, Carol Desmarais and Barbara Boudreau; two brothers, Daniel and Vincent DePasquale; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; Neices, nephews and friends. George's first wife, Carmella (Martucci) DePasquale and a brother Anthony DePasquale pre deceased him. George was born in Worcester, a son of Mauro and Maria (Pellegrini) DePasquale. He graduated from Commerce high School, joined the U.S. Army to serve his country during World War II and has lived here all his life. George worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Worcester over 35 years before retiring due to illness. He was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church, the Eastside Post 201 American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 4 and the National Association of Letter Carriers Union. George's funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, October 26th at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
