Teodoro Velez, 69 of Worcester formerly of Cidra, Puerto Rico, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2011 at home with his loving family by his side. Teodoro is survived by his wife, Haydee Velez; two daughters, Neyda Caraballo and Damaris Quezada both of Worcester; three brothers, Reynaldo and Galo Velez and Eduardo Velasquez all of Worcester; two sisters, Juanita Velez of Cidra, PR and Aida Luz of Hartford, CT; three grandchildren, one great grandchild, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three brothers, Raul, Francisco and Felipe Velez. Teodoro was born in Cidra, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Felix and Basilisa (Zayas) Velez. He grew up there and later moved to Worcester where he has resided ever since. Teodoro worked in the Maintenance Department for Mountain Village Apartments for eight years before retiring in 2005. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church. Services for Teodoro will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
