Joey Martucci, 54, of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2011, surrounded by loving family and dear friends. Joey is survived by his loving mother, Marie (Campanale) Martucci, with whom he lived; two brothers, Peter Martucci of Shrewsbury and Vincent A. Martucci and his wife Karen, who Joey thought of as a sister, of Oxford; two nephews, with whom he shared a special bond of love, Matthew and Anthony Martucci of Oxford; an aunt, Frances Trotto; and uncle, Peter Campanale both of Worcester; many cousins and many special friends, including his family at LightLab. Joey was born in Worcester, son of the late Emilio Martucci and has lived here most of his life. He graduated from Worcester North High School and attended several design schools. Joey was an exceptionally talented lighting designer and he was the President and Owner of LightLab Designs in Worcester. His love of the lighting design business afforded him the opportunity to meet and interact with amazing peoplehis clients, who would ultimately become his friends. His desire was to do whatever he could with his talent to make their environment more beautiful. Joey was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and the Shrewsbury Street Merchants Association. He enjoyed physical fitness and loved to do landscaping and gardening, especially at his home. Joey had a smile and a personality that would fill a room with love and light. He will be missed. He was the "Light" in so many of the lives he touched. Calling hours for Joey will be held on Tuesday, October 11, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 12 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester. (Please go directly to the church). Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum.
