Marjorie L. (Kennedy) Andersen, 82 of Shrewsbury, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital with her loving family by her side. Marjorie's husband of thirty-nine years, Norman K. Andersen passed away December 1986. She is survived by two sons, Norman P. Andersen and his wife Gwendolyn of Shrewsbury and Ken Andersen and his wife Judith of Worcester; her daughter and best friend, Lenna Grignon and her husband Joseph of Shrewsbury; two brothers, Paul and Richard Kennedy both of Shrewsbury; a sister, Dorothy Morin of Millbury; four grandchildren, Jonathan Andersen, Sandi Deblois, Alex and Tyler Grignon; one great granddaughter, Kayla Deblois; a very special friend and loving companion, Ralph Zona of Shrewsbury; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two brothers, John J. Kennedy, III and Robert Kennedy and two sisters, Rita Kimball and Marion Pike. Marjorie was born in Cambridge, Ma, a daughter of the late John J. Kennedy, Jr. and Lenna (Sawler) Kennedy. She graduated from Shrewsbury High School and has lived there all her life. Marjorie was a homemaker, devoted wife and mother. She was a member of St. Anne's Church, Shrewsbury Women's Club and the Special Girls Club. She loved reading, shopping and bus trips. Marjorie had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Services for Marjorie will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2011 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A period calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 5th from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
