Mary Catino

Mary (Mazzilli) Catino, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 1, 2011 with her devoted family by her side. Mary was born in Bisceglia, Province of Bari, Italy, a daughter of Francesco and Maria (LoPopolo). She emigrated to the United States at a young age and lived in Worcester most of her life. She is survived by her beloved children - Domenic Catino and his companion Caralyn Alberta; Rose Camarra and her husband Robert, all of Worcester; her three grandchildren - Jennifer Salyers and her husband Scott of Burbank, CA; Jillian Valentine and her husband Thomas of Worcester, MA; Julie Eggers and her husband Jason of Portsmouth RI; her six great-grandchildren Isabella and Brayden Valentine; Siena and Austin Salyers; and Abigail and Grace Eggers; and her two brothers Tonino and Donato Mazzilli, both in Italy. Her loving husband of 61 years, Emanuele Catino passed away in October, 2010. A brother, Vincenzo and two sisters, Julia Consiglio and Guisippena Dell'Olio also predeceased her. Mary was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker who cherished her Italian heritage and took pride in passing it along to her children & grandchildren. She loved to cook and bake and found joy in caring for her family. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and the Maria S.S. Addoloratta Ladies Biscegliese Society. The funeral will be held on Tuesday October 4TH from the Mercadante Funeral Home and Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA with a Mass at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester MA. A period of visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 on October 4th at the funeral home prior to leaving for church. Entombment will follow at Notre Dame Mausoleum, Worcester, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary's name may be made to the Retinitis Pigmentosa Research Team in care of Foundation Fighting Blindness, P.O.
