Helen L. (Versackas) Santon, 93, of Worcester and Daytona Florida died peacefully Wednesday September 14, 2011 in the Holy Trinity Nursing Home surrounded by her family. Her husband William H. Santon died in 1974. Helen is survived by her loving family; 2 sons William J. Santon and his wife Lucille, and Gerald R. Santon both of Worcester, a daughter Nancy Harrington and her husband Francis of North Grafton, four grandchildren; Michael, Michele, Samantha, and Matthew, and three great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers William and Joseph Versackas. Helen was born in Somerville daughter of the late Joseph H. and Louise Versackas and lived in Worcester most of her life. She attended Cambridge Public Schools. Helen worked as a Dietary Technician for many years at the Worcester County Hospital before she retired. She was a member of St George Roman Catholic Church. Helen enjoyed her retirement years especially those she spent at the Colony Retirement Community where she made many friends. She loved to dance,but her most precious times were those spent with her family. She was a kind and caring women who will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Helen s funeral will be held Friday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in St George's Church 38 Brattle St. Calling hours will be held on Thursday (tonight) from 4PM to 7PM.
