Hunain M. "John" Dahdouh, of Worcester passed away Monday, September 12th 2011 in his home with his devoted family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Hunain was born January 2, 1956 in Damascus, Syria and as a young boy grew up in Kuwait before moving to Worcester earning a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a minor in mechanical engineering from Central New England College over 30 years ago. Hunain is survived by his three cherished children, Christina Pacheco and her husband Wilson with whom he lived, Sarah Severance and her husband Kaleb of Millbury, and Michael H. Dahdouh of Worcester; his parents, Michael and Zakiyeh (Farah) Dahdouh in Damascus; a brother Anton "Tony" Dahdouh; three sisters, Salam and Lina Dahdouh all in Syria and Sahar Dahdouh in Wakefield; two adored grandchildren, Gianna and Hunter: many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Hunain worked in merchandising over 25 years for Coca-Cola Company before retiring due to illness. Hunain was a member of St George Orthodox Cathedral, volunteering whenever he could for church activities. He was devoted to his neighborhood and his neighbors routinely seen assisting them whenever he could. Most of all his family was his life and inspiration. He gained his most joy in the company of his children and grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday, September 15th from 5 pm to 8 pm and from 9:15 am to 9:45 am Friday, September 16th in St George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna St. His funeral service will immediately follow at 10:00 am in the cathedral. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St George Cathedral endowment fund, 30 Anna St. 01604.
