Catherine E. Korio

Catherine E. (Courtney) Korio, 55 of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in UMASS Medical Center. Catherine is survived by her husband of ten years, Dib Y. Korio; a son, Donald H. Ducharme, Jr. of Worcester; two daughters, Michele Savoy of Pelham, NH and Rebecca Robert and her husband Keith of Rutland, MA; four brothers, Ernest Young of Millbury, MA, James and Daniel Courtney of Worcester, MA and Fredrick Courtney of Webster, MA; four sisters, Millie Leveillee and Linda Oberg both of Oxford, MA , Colleen Watkins of Ocala, FL and Jessie Shays of Maricopa, AZ; five grandchildren, James, Gina and Antonio Savoy and Nathan and Kasie Robert; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother, Robert Courtney Sr. Catherine was born in Manchester, NH, a daughter of the late Robert and Jessie (Sweeney) Courtney. She later moved to Worcester where she attended Doherty High School. Catherine worked as a mail handler for the U. S. Postal Service for ten years retiring in 2006. She was a member of St. Mary's Syrian Orthodox in Shrewsbury. She loved bowling and arts and crafts. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 11:00 am in St. Mary's Syrian Orthodox, 1 Industrial Drive, Shrewsbury. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 12th from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Church and again on Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. in the Church prior to the funeral.
