Frederick J. Quercio, Jr. 78, of Worcester passed away peacefully Thursday, September 1st 2011 with his family by his side. Fred was born in Worcester, January 1st 1933 a son of Frederick J. Quercio Sr and Maria (Candelma) Quercio. He graduated from Commerce High School, then joined the U.S. Army to serve his country during the Korean War. He returned to Worcester and has lived here all his life. Fred is survived by his devoted brothers, Marino "Reno" Quercio and his wife Tammy of West Orange, NJ, Dante J. Quercio and his wife Rose of Shrewsbury, Benny Quercio and his wife Lorraine of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Gloria Franciosa of Worcester; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; five brothers, Leo, Michael, Jerry, Albert and Matteo Quercio and a brother in law, Peter Franciosa all pre deceased him. Fred worked over twenty years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of unemployment, as an employment counselor before retiring. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. Fred enjoyed tinkering with projects, He always considered himself an amateur inventor holding patents to several inventions. He was a will liked friend and family man who found comfort in the moments he could spend with everyone. Calling hours, Funeral and burial in St John Cemetery will be private.
