Jack R. Rivard, 71, of Boylston, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2011 in Saint Vincent Hospital. Jack is survived by his loving wife of nearly forty-nine years, Clare A. (Bowles) Rivard; a son, Joel Rivard; a daughter, Jennifer Moulton all of Boylston; a brother, Daniel Rivard and his wife Kathleen of Worcester; a sister, Cindy Rivard of Fort Defiance, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Emily, Gabe, Scott and Jared; nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Joseph Rivard. Jack was born in Worcester, son of the late Losaire and Anna (Bellino) Rivard. He graduated from Worcester North High School and attended Worcester Junior College. He served his nation proudly in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War. Jack worked as an HVAC specialist for Verizon Communications for many years, having previously worked with his father at Rivard Refrigeration. Jack was a member of the East Side Improvement Club. He was a kind and loving man, who was always ready to lend a helping hand. Calling hours for Jack will be held on Thursday, September 1, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a Prayer Service at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 350 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
