Mary E. (Williams) Johnson, 86 of Oxford, formerly of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at UMASS Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Mary's husband of over fifty years, Willie H. Johnson, passed away in June 1999. She is survived by a son, Alfred Johnson and his wife Deborah of Worcester; a daughter, Mary Ann Johnson of Worcester; a brother, William Brown of Augusta, GA; three sisters, Lucille Johnson of Worcester, Naomie Nobles of Cleveland, OH and Mamie Louise Johnson of Lawnside, NJ;a sister-in-law, Morrie B. Johnson; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a son, James Hardwick; a brother, Eddie Badger; two sisters, Martha Crawford and Susan Waters. Mary was born in Louisville, Georgia, a daughter of the late, Lacey Brown and Sara B. (Williams) Badger. She was a homemaker whom loved care for her family. Mary moved to Worcester in 1956 and later moved to Oxford in 1974 where she has resided ever since. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church as well as Second Baptist Church. She was a faithful women and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Services for Mary will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Emmanuel Baptist Church, 717 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A period of calling hours will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in Emmanuel Baptist Church prior to the service.
