Josephine C. (Leone) Cultrera, 101 of Shrewsbury, formerly of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2011 in Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family. Josephine's husband of forty-five years, Paul Cultrera passed away in 1974. She is survived by two sons, Anthony Cultrera and his wife Jo-Ann of Shrewsbury and Paul Cultrera and his wife Mary of Bradenton, FL; a daughter, Pauline C. Mazzone and her husband Thomas of Bradenton, FL; a sister, Mary Revelli of Shrewsbury; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by six brothers, Larry, Daniel, Jesse, Nunzio, Henry and Joseph Leone; two sisters, Catherine Castano and Dora Roverano. Josephine was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late, Antonio and Lucia (Salvucci) Leone. She lived in Worcester and Shrewsbury throughout her life. She worked for GE Telecron, and the Worcester State Hospital as a Nurse's Aide retiring in 1974. She was a member of St. Anne's Church and a former member St. Margaret Mary's Church, where she was involved in the church Women's Guild. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, she loved crocheting and knitting. Josephine received the 100 years Congratulation Certificate from President Barack Obama. The Cultrera Family would like to thank all the staff and employees of Shrewsbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the outstanding care and compassion given to Josephine in her time of need. Services for Josephine will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike (Route 9), Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, August 16th from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
