Donald Mallozzi

Donald J. Mallozzi,84, of Shrewsbury died peacefully Wednesday August 10, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. His wife of fifty one years, Carole E. (Dunn) Mallozzi died in 2007. Donald is survived by a son Michael J Mallozzi and his wife Andrea of Scarborough Maine, a daughter Donna M. Perkins and her husband Stephen of Holden, two grandchildren Jonathan and Michaela, and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother Anthony Mallozzi ll. Donald was born in Worcester son of the late Anthony Sr. and Katheryn (Polachi) Mallozzi and has lived in Shrewsbury for over fifty years. Donald was an Army veteran of WWll. He was a graduate of St. Johns High School, and Becker Junior College. Donald was the owner and operator of the Mallozzi Insurance Agency which was founded by his father many years ago. Donald was a long time member of the Church of St. Mary in Shrewsbury, the Knights of Columbus, the VFW, and the Ray Stone American Legion Post Donald really enjoyed going to work every day and had a keen sense of business. He and Carole were World Travelers, twice on cruises around the world going to the Carribean, Europe, South America, and the Far East. But most of all he enjoyed being with his family especially at the Holidays. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Donald's funeral will be held Monday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in the Church of St. Mary 640 Main St. Shrewsbury. Calling hours in the funeral home are from 3:00PM to 6:00PM on Sunday. Interment with his wife will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
