John M. "Jack" Notarangelo, Jr., 78 of Shrewsbury, formerly of Sterling, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in Westborough Healthcare Center surrounded by his loving family. John's wife of fifty-seven years, Roxanne L. (Johnson) Notarangelo passed away on February 25, 2011. He is survived by three children, Susan Rist and her husband Stephen of Shrewsbury, Daniel Notarangelo of Sterling and Virginia Lavoie and her husband Mark of Charlton; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren; a "Special Angel", Tina Mason, for the exceptional love and care she showed Jack throughout his years at Westborough Healthcare; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three sisters, Virginia Bisceglia, Mary Kite and Ann Papagni. Jack was born in Worcester, son of the late John M. and Pauline (Tomasino) Notarangelo. He graduated from Commerce High School and later moved to Shrewsbury where he lived for twenty -five years. Jack worked as a salesman for Nabisco Corporation for thirty years and also for Komteck Corporation for ten years, retiring in 1993 at the age of 57. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Shrewsbury. He was an avid sports fan especially golf which he enjoyed in his retirement years. The family would like to thank all the staff especially the first floor at Westborough Healthcare Center for the outstanding care given to Jack in his time of need. Services for Jack will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 690 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday, August 15, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
