Philomena (DeQuattro) Powers, 83, of Worcester, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2011, in her home, surrounded by loving family. Her husband, Raymond J. Powers, predeceased her in 1998. Philomena is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Cooper and her husband Howard of Auburn; six sons, Raymond Powers, Jr. and his wife Eileen of Worcester, Geno T. Powers and his wife Robin of Worcester, Joseph R. Powers of Okeechobee, FL, Richard J. Powers and his girlfriend Patricia of Worcester, Gary J. Powers of Shirley and Robert J. Powers of Worcester; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, a great grandson; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two daughters, Debora and Mary Ann Powers. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Giuseppe and Francesca (Riccardi) DeQuattro and has lived here all her life. Philomena enjoyed playing BINGO and was a strong supporter of Boy's Town. Above all else, she loved her family, and enjoyed the special times that they all shared. Calling hours for Philomena will be held on Monday, August 8, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 9, from the funeral home, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
