Robert "Bobby" W. Going, 63, of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2011, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-nine years, Gladys "Ginger" (Keddy) Going; a son, Michael A. Whalen and his fiancé Marcie Trippi; two daughters, Kelly A. Parent and her husband Randy Parent and Jennifer M. Going, all of Worcester; two sisters, Maryann in Arkansas and Evelyn Rabitor of Uxbridge; three grandchildren, Ashley Whalen and her partner Shane Bernier, Aaron Going, and Rhianna-Lynn Parent; several nieces and nephews. Born in Worcester, son of the late Richard Going and Jenny (Bofonchik) Normandin, he grew up in Uxbridge and graduated from Uxbridge High School. He served his nation proudly in the United States Marine Corps. Robert worked as a mail handler for the United States Postal Service in the Shrewsbury Distribution Center. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. He enjoyed NASCAR and riding his Harley. He found great pride watching his grandson Aaron play baseball, his trips to Spag's with Ashley and his bike rides with Rhianna. Calling hours for Robert will be held on Sunday, August 7, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be held on Monday, August 8, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street, Worcester.
