Charles A. Lindkvist, 61, of Sutton, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011, in UMass Hospital, surrounded by loving family and friends. Charles is survived by his partner of twenty-seven years, Dr. Ronald Gobeil; his mother, Doris (Abraham) Rice of Melrose; two sisters, Carol Lindkvist of Salem, New Hampshire and Claire Frattallone of Melrose; three nieces, Elexis Lougee of Apollo, PA, Elizabeth Frattallone of Melrose and Nancy Girouard of Rowlett, TX; close friends, Michael and Patricia Capone, Eileen Dalbec and her family Bobby, Kathy, Michael, and Helen, Cathy Conway and Danielle Holden. Charles was born in Stoneham, son of the late Ralph Lindkvist. He grew up in and around Boston, finally settling in Sutton in 1988. Charles worked as an inventory controller for the former VOLT Company in Woburn, before retiring in 2000. He had also been a restaurateur, owning a restaurant in the Boston area. He had also worked as a distributor for Faulkner Mfg, and had worked for UMass Hospital. Charles enjoyed the ocean, and found great joy, spending time on the water or at the beach. He loved being with his friends, who will miss his way of being so loving yet comical and mischievous at the same time. Calling hours for Charles will be held today, Wednesday, August 3, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be held on Thursday, August 4th, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester.
