Herbert H Haddad, 82, peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday, July 17, 2011, after a long battle with cancer. A native of Worcester, he was the son of Nabeha (Merhige) and Abraham Haddad. He leaves his wife of 55 years Beatrice A (Anber) Haddad; three children, Claudia A. Barratt and her husband David of Malvern, PA, Jessica M. Agazarian and her husband Edward of Webster, and Mark H. Haddad and his wife Cynthia (Haddad) of Belmont; four grandchildren, Jonathan and Geoffrey Barratt and Anthony and Lydia Haddad; and one sister, Margaret H. George of Worcester. He was predeceased by 5 siblings; Richard, Theodore, and Raymond Haddad, Lydia Rankin and Ruth White-Cosmos. Mr. Haddad served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and in the Army Reserves as 1st Lieutenant until 1962. He is a graduate of Clark University in Worcester with a degree in Physics and spent his professional career with Norton Company from 1956 until his retirement in 1991. He loved to golf and took pride in his landscaping, woodworking, and entertaining. As a lifelong member of St. George Orthodox Cathedral, he served on the Parish Council as treasurer for many years, he was an active member of the Men's Club, and a 64-year member of the choir. He was on the building commission for the current cathedral and served on the 2002 Parish Centennial Committee. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 21st at 11 am in St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna St. in Worcester. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 20th from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Cathedral and again on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. in the Cathedral prior to the funeral.
