Charlotte A (Grant) Hanks, 66, passed away peacefully, Thursday July 14, 2011, at home surrounded by her loving family. Charlotte is survived by her devoted children, Colleen Grady of Arizona; Mondine McLear of Paxton; Dawn Ordung of Holden; Bridget Feroci of Sterling; Paul Grady of Holden; Anne Feltquate of New Jersey; and John Grady of Holden; 17 grandchildren; Neices, nephews, extended family and numerous friends. Charlotte was born in Worcester on January 7, 1945, the daughter of Stephen and Marion (Schollard) Grant. She was raised in Holden and was a survivor of the infamous 1953 Tornado. As a child, Charlotte displayed a natural gift for the piano which evolved into a lifelong passion as well as a notable accomplishment in the equestrian sport. After raising her children, Charlotte graduated from Anna Maria College in 1988 with a degree in Music. She later taught piano to generations of children in the Worcester area some of whom pursued professional music careers. For over 30 years, she played piano for many churches in the Worcester area the most recent Christ Baptist Church in Worcester. Charlotte's interests among other things include tending her garden, home decorating, and most importantly her family. Watching her large family grow, prosper and succeed was inspirational to her in her life. She will be sorely missed. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Friday July 22nd from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm in Christ Baptist Church, 34 Granby Rd. Her funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm.
