Francis P. Spokis, 52, of Rutland passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2011 when his untimely death occurred at home. Francis was born in Worcester, November 29, 1958, a son of Joseph A. and Mary A. (Polito) Spokis. He graduated from North High School Class of 1976, lived in Worcester until moving to Rutland in 1999. Francis is survived by his wife of 18 years, LeeAnne (Mourginis) Spokis; a son, Nicholas Spokis Sr. and his fiancé Jodi Baniukiewicz of Worcester; a daughter, Andrea Spokis of Rutland; two brothers, Joseph Spokis of Oxford, John Spokis and his longtime companion Debbie Johnson of Worcester; a sister, Ann Marie Ceredona of Seattle, Washington; two grandchildren, Nicholas Spokis Jr. and Olivia Spokis; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Francis worked in automotive repair all his life. In 1989, he founded and served as President of F.S. Automotive Enterprises on Franklin St., Worcester. Francis was a member of the Mass Auto Body Association, and Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and puttering around his home in Rutland. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Tuesday, July 19th from 4 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. His funeral will be held Wednesday, July 20th at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to: the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Renovation Fund, 24 Mulberry St., Worcester or the Rutland Congregational Church, Rutland, Mass.
