Florence A.(Stellato) Sacco, of San Martin California, formerly of Warren, Ma. and Atlanta St in Worcester, passed away Sunday, July 10th , 2011 in California with family by her side. Florence's husband of 68 years, Orlando Sacco passed away in June of 2007. She is survived by her two sons, Dr. Francis R. Sacco, MD, his wife Jeannine and their children Michael, Andrew and Lisa in California and David in Dallas, Tx and her son John P. Sacco and his son John J. Sacco and John J's mother Amy M Sacco in Ware, Ma. She also leaves three great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. Florence was born in Worcester, one of eight children born to John and Maria (Ferraiuolo) Stellato. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1939, met and married her husband later that year. Together they raised their two sons on Atlanta St, before moving to Warren to be closer to their son John. In 2000, Florence and Orlando moved to California to live with their son Francis, and had lived there since. Florence worked 15 years as a secretary for the City of Worcester Police Department Civil Defense unit until retiring. She previously worked as a proof reader for U.S. Envelope-Logan Division. Florence was a former member of St Margaret Mary Church in Worcester and St Jean the Baptist in East Brookfield. Florence loved being outdoors working in her yard and garden and spending time with her family. She loved to cook and could always be counted on to prepare an abundant quantity of food for any family gathering. Florence's funeral will be held Monday, July 18th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, Worcester, with a Mass at 10:30 am in St Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd. Entombment will be in St John Mausoleum. A period of visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am Monday, July 18th prior to the funeral.
