Anna D. Loconto, 91, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in Saint Vincent Hospital. Anna is survived by two brothers, Jerry and Anthony Loconto both of Worcester; fourteen nieces and nephews; many grand nieces and grand nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Peter "Perry Conte", Alfred and Andrew Loconto, two sisters, Rose Ratchford and Lucy Loconto, and also by a niece and a nephew. Anna was born in Worcester, daughter of Liberato and Genevieve (Graziano) Loconto and has lived most of her life in the same home. Anna graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester and from the Saint Vincent Hospital School of Nursing. Anna served her nation proudly as a nurse in the United States Army, earning the rank of First Lieutenant. She served overseas in the Asia-Pacific Theatre, during World War II. Anna will be remembered by many as the Manager and woman with the friendly smile and compliments at Conte Formal Wear in the Mid-Town Mall in Worcester, where she worked, with her family and generations of people going the proms and weddings, for more than forty years. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church. Calling hours for Anna will be held on Monday, June 27, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOM E& CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 28, from the funeral home with a Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. in Our Lady Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester.
