Grace (Prizio) Bombredi passed away after a short illness June 20, 2011 at Worcester Medical Center, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She leaves her loving husband of 61 years, Nicholas G. Bombredi; her son Thomas Bombredi and his wife Deborah; and her cherished grandsons Scott and Corey Bombredi, and Nicholas Catachio. She also leaves her devoted sister Vincenza O'Neil. Her daughter, Kathleen Catachio, predeceased her in 2009. She was also preceeded in death by her brother Michael Prizio, and sisters Josephine Prizio, Eleanor Ceffalo and Jean Gurinian. Additionally, Grace leaves several cherished nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Gaetano and Angelina (Sullo) Prizio, and lived here all her life. She graduated from the former Worcester Girls Trade High School in 1944, and spent many years as a professional - and excellent and well-respected - seamstress. She was a life-long member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Worcester. Grace loved her Boston Red Sox, and rarely missed a televised game. She loved cooking, baking (she made "the best" homemade pizza), playing cards, bingo and an occasional casino visit, sewing, and spending time with her loving husband and entire family. Perhaps more than anything else, "Auntie Gracie" always loved to laugh and make others laugh - both family and friends - of which she had many. She always enjoyed hearing about the endeavors and successes of her children and grandchildren, as well as all her neices and nephews, and absolutely loved being at family gatherings down through the years. Your devoted family will ALWAYS miss you, thank you, and love you! You are invited to attend her visiting hours in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 23rd. Her funeral will be held on Friday, June 24th beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel - Saint Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Donations in Grace's memory may be made to the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Restoration Fund, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester, MA, 01605.
