Margaret "Peg" E. (Taylor) Hesselton, 74, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 in Auburn Life Care Center. Peg is survived by her loving family including her daughter, Marcia Sylvia of Putnam, CT and her children, Johnny, David and Lisa; a son, Steven T. Hesselton and his wife Nancy and their children, Maggie, Tim and Abby Hesselton; three great grandchildren, Lexi, Eden and Annabelle; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Taylor of Rutland. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Calvin and Lyola (Knight) Taylor. She graduated from Worcester Commerce High School. Peg worked as the head administrative assistant in the credit department at Guaranty Bank and Trust, and Bank of New England, before she retired. She was an active participant and board member of the Francis Gardens Association. She gave of herself, not only in her neighborhood, but also by volunteering at the Fallon Clinic. She was always happiest when surrounded by family, but was thrilled by sharing love and life's accomplishments with her grandchildren. The Hesselton family would like to express sincere thanks and appreciation to the entire staff at Life Care of Auburn as well as the compassion shared from Evercare Hospice. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 21, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed immediately by a Funeral Service at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
