Cecile F. "Florence" (Herring) Cataldo, 82, of Auburn, formerly of Worcester, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 in her home. Her husband, Anthony Cataldo, Sr., predeceased her in 1998, and her son, Anthony Cataldo, Jr., predeceased her in 1990. Cecile is survived by a daughter, Cecile F. Cataldo of Barre; a step-daughter, Lucille Kasabula of Grafton; many grand children and great grandchildren whom she loved and adored, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Susan Kasabula,and a grandson Anthony R. Cataldo III, and her three brothers; Lester Herring, William Herring lll, and Ernest Herring. Cecile was born in Hartford, Connecticut, daughter of William J. Jr. and Cicely H. (Chartrand) Herring. She attended Lamartine Street School and Worcester Vocational School. Cecile retired in 1992, from Raytheon SMDO, after eleven years of dedicated service. She had previously worked for Honeywell, Micro Networks and Sprague Electric. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, the Worcester Police Wives Bowling League. She was creative and loved to draw, crochet, sew and do crossword puzzles. She was an avid reader and enjoyed travel. She loved her family and her caring and generosity will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. Florence's funeral will be held Tuesday June 21,2011 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass of Christian Burial Celebrated at 11 A.M. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4PM to 7PM. Interment will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester.
