Robert H. Tainter, 80, of West Boylston passed away peacefully Sunday, June 12th 2011 in his home. Robert was born June 14th 1931, in Worcester a son of Harvey and Elsie (Knowlton) Tainter. He graduated from Commerce High School. Met and married his wife of the past 60 years on May 26th; Ardeth "Bunny" (Clifford) Tainter. Together they raised their family in Shrewsbury most of their life before moving to West Boylston 5 years ago. Besides his wife Bunny, Robert is survived by his five children, Cheryl Newton and her husband Paul of Slidell, La, Gail Popillo and her husband Anthony of Boylston, June Pugliese and her husband Raymond with whom they lived, Paul H. Tainter and his wife Karen of Worcester, Michelle Christmas and her husband Randy of Jaffrey NH; nine grandchildren; Neices, nephews, extended family and friends. Robert was President, CEO and concrete estimator for Regional Construction Company in Sudbury for over 25 years before retiring. He was previously a member of Bethany Congregational Church, and was now attending Freedom Worship Center. His enjoyments were Golf, Bowling, Cribbage and Sports. His special sports interest was the Boston Red Sox. The most important interest to Robert was his family. He cherished the times he could spend with them and enjoying their interests. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday, June 16th from 6 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am in Freedom Worship Center, 141 West Boylston Street, West Boylston, MA 01583. Burial will follow in Mt View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Freedom Worship Center, 141 West Boylston St. West Boylston, 01581.
