Constance "Connie" M. (Daigle) Bombard, 75, of Worcester, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2011 in Saint Vincent Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Connie is survived by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Richard L. Bombard; four sons, Richard L. Bombard, Jr. of Salt Lake City; Robert J. Bombard and his wife Theresa of Grafton, James J. Bombard, Sr. and Sarah of Uxbridge and David P. Bombard and his wife Lisa of Belchertown; four daughters, Patricia M. Bombard, Mary M. Bombard, Cheryl A. Bombard and Susan M. Lavoie and her husband John all of Worcester; a brother, Norman J. Daigle of Grafton; twenty-one grandchildren, two great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was born in Granby, Quebec, Canada, daughter of Joseph H. and Beatrice (Blair) Daigle and has lived here most of her life. Connie worked as a cook and housekeeper for the Diocese of Worcester, starting at the rectory of Saint Paul's Cathedral and more recently at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, from where she retired. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved gathering with her family and her many friends. She and her husband visited Florida during the winter months, where she organized weekly BINGO games and functions for her Florida friends. While back in Worcester, she enjoyed visits to Twin Rivers or as she would like to call it, "Going south or for ice cream," to try her luck on the "ching-ching" machines. The funeral for Connie will be held on Wednesday, June 8, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church 1290 Grafton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Saint John's Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to gather with her family for calling hours on Tuesday, June 7, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
