Anthony R. Pellegrino Jr., 78, of Worcester died peacefully on May 25, 2011 surrounded by his family. Anthony is survived by his devoted family; a daughter, Valerie Hagerty of Wareham: a son, Daniel Pellegrino of Cambridge: a sister, Sophie Ruggieri of Worcester: and a brother, John Pellegrino of Grafton. He also leaves three loving and caring grandchildren Jillian Hagerty of Auburn, Caitlin and Lisa Hagerty of Worcester, a great granddaughter Mckenna Kittredge of Auburn: Many nieces, nephews, extended family and his beloved canine friend "Chi-Chi". He was predeceased by four brothers, Frank, Pepino, Salvatore and James Pellegrino, and six sisters, Rose Manganello, Florence McClintock, Rita Barber, Jeanette Pellegrino, Carmella Messenger and Ruth Michaud. Anthony was born in Worcester, a son of the late Antonio and Filomena (Laudone) Pellegrino, he attended Worcester schools and joined the U.S. Ar Force to serve his country during the Korean War, and has lived in Worcester all his life. Anthony worked as a masonry contractor for many years building beautiful stone walls and designing spectacular walkways. He was truly an artist in his field. He loved playing cards, listening to Frank Sinatra music and spending time at the local coffee shop with his friends. But most of all he enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Saturday, May 28th from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. A prayer service will follow at 1:30 pm.
