Francesco "Frank" J. Catino, 86 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 23, 2011 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence. Mr. Catino is survived by a brother, Lando Catino and his wife Angela of Worcester; two sisters, Yolanda Lombardi and her husband Dominic of Worcester and Millie Ann DeLoriea of Oxford; two close friends, Elizabeth and Paul Rheaume of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews including, Janet and Robert Lombardi of Boylston with whom he resided during his illness. He is predeceased by six brothers: Joseph, John, Michael, Victor, Anthony and William Catino and a sister, Jeanette Tunstall. Mr. Catino was born in Worcester, a son of the late Joseph and Lucy (Ciccone) Catino and lived here all of his life. He graduated from Commerce High School. He worked as a truck driver for Kesseli & Morse Co. for over 20 years before retiring. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Parish. He also was a member of the Teamsters Local 170. In his day, he raised and showed horses; he loved to travel across the country, making frequent stops out West. He prided himself on his extensive vegetable garden which became a neighborhood show place. He was a self taught mechanic and loved to tinker with automobiles, especially classic cars. He also enjoyed books and was an avid reader of history. He will sadly be missed by his family and friends. Services will be held on Friday, May 27th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will follow in Saint John Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held on Friday, May 27th from 9:00-10:30 in the funeral home prior to his Mass.
