Beverly A. (King) Markey, 74, of Worcester died peacefully Friday May 6, 2011 in UMASS Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Beverly is survived by her husband of 56 years John P. Markey Sr. a son John P. Markey Jr. and his wife Christine of Northbridge, two daughters Juliann F. Hathaway of Worcester, and Kathleen Markey-Pellerin and her husband George of Worcester. Beverly is also survived by eleven grand children, six great grandchildren, three sisters; Lorraine Hamelin of Florida, Carol Gatto of Spencer, and Sheila Talman of Auburn, two brothers Richard Mercier of Spencer, and Raymond Mercier of Seattle, a sister in law Phyllis King, and many nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother Thomas King Jr. Beverly was born in Worcester daughter of the late Thomas and Florence(Harnois) King and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Beverly worked in the Accounting department for many years at the Industrial Supply Company, and also at the Currier Division Corporation, The Quaker Special Risk Underwriters Association, and for Hank Benjamin. Beverly was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, always doing for others, she was a very kind and gracious lady. And will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She enjoyed going to bingo, and loved doing arts, and crafts, and a good day at the Casino! But her most precious times were those spent with her family. Beverly was a member of St. Christopher Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her Physicians and all the Nurses on South 5 at UMASS Memorial Hospital including her Infusion Nurse who were so kind and compassionate to Beverly and her family during her stay there. Beverly's funeral will be held Wednesday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in the Church of St. Christopher 950 West Boylston St. Calling hours in the funeral home are 5PM to 8PM on Tuesday. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
