Helen R. (Vito) D'Alonzo, 86, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Her husband, Vincent J. D'Alonzo, predeceased her in 1977. Helen is survived by a daughter, Elaine M. D'Alonzo-Sampson; a son, Thomas J. D'Alonzo and his fiancé Debra Sequeira all of Worcester. She is also survived by her dear friend and cousin, Beverly DeMarco of Worcester, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Frank and Henry Vito and Sarah DiLeo. She was born in Worcester, daughter of James and Bomina (Basilla) Vito and has lived here all her life. Helen worked as a hair dresser for many years, and was affiliated with both Silhouette Salon and Cottage Salon. She was also a singer and recording artist with the Perry Conte Orchestra. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church and the Beato Angelo D'Acri Society. Helen found great joy in being surrounded by family. She shared her loving kindness with her children and her siblings, by always being there to help and to share her love. She will be missed by her family and all who came to know her. The D'Alonzo family would like to thank Dr. David Duhme for his care and support. The would also like to thank the first floor nursing staff, CNA's and the cooks and kitchen workers at Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation, for all of their tremendous care and graciousness. Her calling hours and Funeral Mass, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, were held privately yesterday, Saturday, April 30. Interment was in Saint John's Cemetery.
