Edward J. Antoniewicz, 93, of Worcester, formerly of East Sandwich, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2011 in his home, surrounded by his family. His wife, Constance S. (Werona) Antoniewicz, predeceased him in 2000. Edward is survived by a loving family, including two nieces, Sherry Wyman, with whom he lived and Sandra Shaughnessey of S. Yarmouth; a brother, Harold Ames of San Diego; six great nieces and nephews that he considered more as grandchildren, Julie Merrill Wyman of Millbury, Beth A. Inman of Sutton, Kelly Magowan and Kim St. Andre both of Grafton, Keith Ryan of Leicester and Heather Ryan of San Diego; eleven great-great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Kelly's husband, Norman Magowan who was Ed's best friend and "partner in crime". Ed was predeceased by a sister, Janet Capalbo and by a brother, Walter Antoniewicz. He was born in Worcester, son of Peter V. and Sophia (Karpowicz) Antoniewicz. He graduated from Commerce High School and Becker Junior College. Ed served his nation proudly in the United States Navy, during World War II. He met his loving wife and together they continued to live in Worcester, before retiring to Cape Cod in the early 90's. He returned to Worcester, to live with his niece in 2000. Mr. Antoniewicz was the District Sales Manager for Federal Yeast Company for many years, before retiring in 1990. He had previously been a haberdasher. He owned and operated Curtis Clothing Co. a men's haberdashery in Fitchburg for many years. Calling hours will be held on Friday morning, April 29, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum, Worcester.
